My Tiger My Timing are Anna Vincent, James Vincent, Jamie Harrison, Gary Drain and Seb Underhill, and formed in 2008 in south east London. After the release of their first single earlier this year - the hypnotic, dark alt pop number 'This Is Not The Fire' - they return with second single 'I Am The Sound' out October 5th through Silver Music Machine. The single will also feature live favourite 'The Distance', a dark and dirty remix by Hook & The Twin and a stomping disco remix by May68 .

Produced by New Young Pony Club's Andy Spence, 'I Am The Sound' is about choosing passion over fear and shows a band progressing at a startling rate, with each member layering vocals, nods to New Order, The Stone Roses and Blur and a universal lyric which will prove that pop music can still be a uniting and meaningful force.

To coincide with the single, the five-piece will also be releasing a limited edition EP on Pure Groove (previous releases by Mystery Jets, Little Boots, Patrick Wolf). The EP will feature 'I Am The Sound', 'This Is Not The Fire', other exclusive tracks, interludes and specially designed artwork and has been designed to run as one full length track – this is also set for release on October 5th.

Since releasing 'This Is Not The Fire' earlier this year, the band have added synth player Seb Underhill to their fold, worked with Hot Chip's Joe Goddard and become a frequent fixture on the live scene, playing gigs across London and the UK supporting Golden Silvers, Yo Majesty and The Invisible amongst others.

Named after an Arthur Russell track, My Tiger My Timing have recently recorded a version of his song 'Arm Around You' for a covers album on the Electric Minds label. With lots of fans at radio (BBC Radio One and Two, Xfm, BBC 6 Music), and having contributed to Modular's recent 'Leave Them All Behind Vol 3' compilation, French label Sisterphunk's 'Sisters EP' and the forthcoming Kitsune 8 sampler, 2009 is shaping up to be the year of the Tiger.

THE BOOM-BAP IS WHAT I'M BEST AT...
Seit 2006 hat die hamburger Rapgalore Crew nach Zwischenstops in der Roten Laterne und der Pony Bar fest in der Astra-Stube geankert. Jeden dritten Freitag kommen roher Rap gewürzt mit einer Prise 70s-Funk und der ein oder anderen sympathischen Skurrilität auf die Teller. Der ehrliche, unangepasste Rap-Sound der in den 90ern von Labels wie Payday, Rawkus und Duckdown geprägt wurde, bietet dabei ein solides Fundament für Abstecher in die Vergangenheit (A Tribe Called Quest, Brand Nubian, Masta Ace, Arrested Development) und die Zukunft von Rap (Stones Throw, Rhymesayers, Anticon, Def Jux). Zu empfehlen ist der Abend all denjenigen, die von verweichlichtem, digitalisiertem und kommerzialisiertem Rap die Schnauze voll haben und sich mangels Daunenjacke in den letzten Jahren auf keine Rap-Party mehr getraut haben. TANLINES -
Tanlines haben die Sonnenbräune nicht nur im Bandnamen: afrikanische Trommeln werden mit Synthesizern unterlegt, was sich im Sound in einer tropischen Grundstimmung niederschlägt.

Als tanzbare Animal Collective werden die Tanlines von Augenzeugen bezeichnet, die bereits eine Live-Show des Duos miterleben durften. Tanlines haben auf Matador Records Anfang Januar die Single "Real Life" veröffentlicht inklusive einem Memory Tapes-Remix. Und wo Memory Tapes draufsteht ist meistens Chillwave drin, so auch hier.

Tanlines setzen sich zusammen aus Jesse Cohen von Professor Murder und Eric Emm von Don Caballero respektive Storm and Stress. Es handelt sich also um keine Greenhorns.

Tanlines machten Remixe für the Tough Alliance, Telepathe, El Guincho, Au Revoir Simone, Solid Gold u.a. und veröffentlichten bei True Panther Sound, Beggars, Young Turks, Kitsuné

BONGO DISCO -
Hi Tech Tropical
Bongo Disco ist die neuartige Kombination von afrikanischen und karibischen Rythmen mit grosstädtischer Ravekultur.
Da werden Sounds wie Coupé Decalé, UK Funky, Ghetto Bass, Electro Cumbia, Soca, südafrikanischer House und viele andere Stile im Mix miteinander verquickt und mit Soundeffekten so bearbeitet, dass dabei eine neue, eigenständige globale Tanzmusik entsteht, Hi Tech Tropical.
Gegründet wurde das Projekt 2006 von Oliver Schrader, der seit 1991 mit dem Reggaesoundsytem Silly Walks zu den Top DJs seiner Zunft gehört und mit der Bongo Disco ein neues Kapitel aufgeschlagen hat.
Seit 2009 gibt es einige Remix Produktionen in Zusammenarbeit mit Jr Blender, u.a. von Jan Delay, QQ und Capleton.

MUSEKE MUSEKE -
Utropic Pop
Museke Mûseke ist ein neues DJ-Team für tropische Popmusik. Die drei Herren aus Hamburg haben es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, den Klimawandel in unseren Gefilden noch etwas zu
beschleunigen - zumindest in musikalischer Hinsicht: Gespielt wird alles, was die Menschen in den tropischen Regionen Afrikas, Lateinamerikas und der Karibik zum Tanzen bringt, und zwar von damals bis heute.
Anfang der 2000er Jahre sind Doob und Mudds schon als Teil des Soca-Soundsystems
Constant Pressure SupaSoca durch die Clubs gezogen und haben dazu beigetragen, karibische Karnevalsmusik in Norddeutschland salonfähig zu machen.
Der Dritte im Bunde hat sich in erster Linie in die Vintage-Sounds Afrikas und Lateinamerikas verliebt und bildet somit das historische Rückgrat des Sounds.
