Das wichtigste Vorneweg: Heute ist Slayertag!

Glückwünsche dazu, denn er wird sicher nicht weniger ignoriert werden
als z.B. der Welt-Ozean-Tag am 8. Juni. Interessant könnte der
„World-Zoonosis-Day" im Juli werden, der um Aufmerksamkeit für vom
Tier auf den Menschen übertragbare Krankheiten wirbt; vorausgesetzt,
bis dahin ist die ehec-Quelle wieder beim Viech zu suchen. Bisherige
Kandidaten waren: Rindfleisch, Milchprodukte, Tomaten, Salat,
norddeutsche Gurken, spanische Gurken, spanische Gurken, die in
Hamburg auf dem Boden lagen, Rohkost überhaupt, der Hafengeburtstag,
Lübeker Restaurants, essbare Sprossen. Diese Liste ist unvollständig
und wird sicher noch fortgesetzt bis wir endlich bei wilden
Verschwörungstheorien und der Strafe Gottes angelangt sind.

In letzter Zeit häufen sich die Gerüchte, der Neuigkeitenbrief
spiegele in gewisser Weise autobiographische Aspekte des
Schreiberlings wider. Die ist nur bedingt richtig, vielmehr zeigt es
den Drang der Rezipienten, aktiv am Leben anderer Leute teilhaben zu
wollen sowie Dichtung und Wahrheit zu vermengen. Ähnliches passiert,
wenn Leute die Kinoleinwand anschreien, um leichtbekleidete Frauen zu
warnen, dass ein Hochsitz mit Leiter nicht der beste Fluchtweg vor
einem axtbewehrten Psychopathen ist. Weiteres Beispiel: sozial
ausgehungerte MöchtegernrebellInnen, die meinen, irgendwelche Leute am
anderen Ende der Welt würden sich für genau ihre im Selbstverständnis
avantgardistische, kleinstbürgerliche „Solidarität" interessieren.
Der seit Jahren immer wieder ausgebuddelte Versuch, sich auf die
freigewordene Wohnung in der TV Serie Lindenstrasse zu bewerben fällt
ausdrücklich nicht in diese Kategorie, sondern ist angesichts des
herrschenden Wohnungsmangels durchaus verständlich. Fragen kann man
doch mal. …Hhhm, an sich soll ja jede Woche gelacht werden, Mecker
gibt's ohnehin immer so viel und keiner ist mal fröhlich…. Menno! Also
im Trennkoststyle noch was witziges hinterher – aber vorsicht! Beides
auf einmal kann der Körper nicht verarbeiten.

CUMBIA QUEERS Tropi - Cumbia - Punk de Buenos Aires (ARG)
Las Kumbia Queers
Sechs erfahrene MusikerInnen aus Argentinien und Mexiko, von der
aktuellen Punkrockszene gelangweilt, beschliessen eines Tages in
Buenos Aires, etwas ganz anderes zu machen: Cumbia. Was aus einer
Bierlaune heraus beginnt, führt im Sommer 2007 zur Gründung der Kumbia
Queers.
Sie gehen die Cumbia noch mal anders an. Sie machen es queer.
Überkommene Bezeichnungen ignorieren sie, ihren Stil nennen die Frauen
"1000 % Tropipunk". Zunächst wussten sie nicht so genau, wie Cumbia
"geht". Sie probierten herum, die Ideen für das neue Genre sprudelten,
und so nahmen sie ihre erste CD in Rekordzeit auf. Auf der CD "Kumbia
Nena" (2007) sind viele Coverversionen in puckendem Rhytmus zu hören,
Titel von Madonna, Nancy Sinatra, The Cure, den Ramones etc. Aus
Madonnas "La Isla bonita" wird "La Isla con chicas", die Insel voller
Mädchen, ein absolutes Lesbenparadies.
Ihr Mix aus Punk, Cumbia und Queerness ist in Lateinamerika-und
-weltweit-ziemlich einzigartig. In Argentinien, Chile und Mexiko haben
sie bereits ihre feste Fangemeinde. 2010 sind die Cumbia Queers durch
Mexico getourt und haben auf dem grössten Festival in Mexico Stadt,
dem "Vive-Latino", gespielt. Mit ihrer gewitzten Mischung sind die
sechs Frauen schon weit herumgekommen. Kein Konzertort gleicht dem
anderen - sei es der zentrale Platz Zocalo in Mexico-Stadt, ein
Altenheim in Chile oder ein Frauengefängnis in Buenos Aires.
Im Juli 2010 stellten sie auf ihrer ersten Europa-Tournee ihre neue CD
vor und infizierten nun auch Europe mit dem Tropi-Punk Virus:" La gran
estafa del Tropi-Punk", eine Anlehnung auf Spanisch an "The Great
Rock'n Roll Swindle". Bescheidenheit? So ein Quatsch. Brauchen sie
auch nicht.

über Alkohol, Religion, Gewalt und menschliche Beziehungen eine

By The Grace Of God (USA) + Don't Eat All The Humans, Please!

By the Grace of God was easily the most energetic, sincere, radical,
and politically outspoken band of the straight-edge and hardcore
revival scenes of the mid-'90s. Which are two scenes that the band
would eventually distance itself from as they became increasingly
political and more highly critical of the hardcore scene's turn toward
"mainstream" thinking and mass marketing. By the Grace of God began as
little more than an excuse for vocalist Rob Pennington Black
Cross/Endpoint/Black God and guitarist duncan barlow
Endpoint/Guilt/Good Riddance/the aasee lake to play uplifting,
politically charged, high-energy hardcore together again. The two had
cut their teeth fronting the phenomenally emotional Louisville
hardcore band Endpoint and had since drifted off into various
post-hardcore, metal, and indie-oriented projects -- most notably
barlow with Guilt. The duo had assembled a veritable who's who of the
local scene that included Thommy Browne Enkindels/Black Cross/Endpoint
on drums, Jay Palumbo Empathy/Elliott/32 Frames on guitar, and
Jonathan Mobley Falling Forward/Elliott on bass. A bidding war ensued
for the band and By the Grace of God eventually decided to work with
Victory Records but refused to sign a contract. They released a
seven-inch and a full length with Victory before parting ways due to
the label's decision to begin producing pornographic films. After
playing a large handful of regional shows, Palumbo and Mobley left the
band to focus full-time on Elliott. They were replaced by bassist
Brian Roundtree and guitarist Robby Scott Christensen. The band then
embarked upon a national tour supporting Avail, AFI, and Good Riddance
before splitting up because barlow moved to Colorado earn his PhD.
They released a final seven-inch with Initial Records/Three Little
Girls and one song on a split on Greenslate Records. Now that barlow
and Pennington have finished their doctorates and have secured
teaching positions, they are reforming to pick up where they left off,
writing and performing anthem based punk music that believes that the
importance of the message must always be as powerful as the music they
preform.

Grass Widow sind ein gutes Beispiel für zickigen, hektischen Rock. Die
Songs der Frauencombo schlottern sich durch wüstes, dennoch
durchdekliniertes Wischiwaschi. Vokalharmonien versuchen sich, wie es
einst Stereolab praktizierten, in den Vordergrund des Songs zu
schieben und ganz anders zu klingen als der Rest. Da kann man auch
schon mal den Kanon anstimmen, um ein Zusammengehörigkeitsgefühl
aufkommen zu lassen. Ist da ein Hauch Punk in der Drehzahl? Sind es
Popverweise, die an eine Retro-B-52′s-Platte erinnern?

Past and present members of Portland hardcore mainstays such as
Remains Of The Day, Hellshock, Warcry, Lebenden Toten, etc pull a 180
and dish out ten tracks of icy, ominous postpunk.

Since their last release, The Estranged have dialed back the explicit
aggression of their early singles a bit, and dialed up the textured,
atmospheric, layered sounds of prime 80s deathrock/postpunk. A little
less US influence, a little more UK………A little less Wipers, a little
more Cure/Chameleons UK/Joy Division, etc.
