Staubgold vs. Spezialmaterial Tour 2011 w/

Person
DJ Markus Detmer
Reuber
Monoblock B
Hepp

Staubgold and Spezialmaterial, two of the most innovative labels in the German-speaking world, present themselves on a joint tour without musical blinkers and false bottom. The spectrum reaches from aluminium foil to candyfloss, from delicate, ethereal sounds to brute electro-industrial.
Staubgold is represented by DJ Markus Detmer, Klangwart and Reuber. Spezialmaterial by Person (Michael Eberli solo), Monoblock B and newcomer Hepp, whose debut EP will be released in September. In other words: the state of the art in electronic music.

In February 2011 the two label founders Markus Detmer and Michael "Koko" Eberli met in the Indian capital New Delhi. The occasion was the "Salon of Alchemists" initiated by the Swiss curator Clara Ouchène (Silverseeds), where Staubgold exponents Klangwart (with Markus Detmer and Timo Reuber) and Reuber connected with the Swiss Andy Guhl (Voice Crack and Person (Spezialmaterial).
Together the artists developed live improvisations with Indian musicians and dancers, which was shown at the Goethe-Institute of New Delhi with great success. Taken by the straightforwardness and originality of collective improvising that swiftly leads to a unique musical language, the idea of a joint project in Europe arose. So it was self-evident to use the great potential of both labels and join forces on a tour of Switzerland and Germany.
Staubgold:
There are very few German labels that are as musically versatile and global while being strongly tied to the personality of the founder as is the case with Markus Detmers' Staubgold from Berlin. It presented its 100th release in 2010.
It was founded 1998 in Cologne and has been domiciled in Berlin since 2003. It is the project of musician, journalist and activist Markus Detmer, who took a lot of risk to form one of the most unusual labels of the past years. The move to Berlin was a logical step, as the city's open and liberal attitude towards life congenially matched the musical claim to freedom and adventure of the label and its artists. It's no surprise that Staubgold widened its scope and now releases Hip Hop (Curse Ov Dialect), Reggae (David Last vs. Zulu) and Rockmusik (Projekt Transmit).
Spezialmaterial:
Spezialmaterial formed in an organic process in the late nineties. So far, the Zurich based Label has released the works of 51 national and international acts on more than 30 records. With innovative sound scapes and technical savvy, Spezialmaterial artists have not only won numerous prizes but also made themselves a favourite in the specialized international press. The acoustically and visually impressive live presentations, the outstanding graphic design and visionary booking made the label a seal of quality for the sophisticated.   The musicians of Spezialmaterial have played on all continents except Australia. In Switzerland, Spezialmaterial acts shine with new projects every year at festivals such as Les Urbaines, Kilbi Bad Bonn, Shift Festival. Unusual musical encounters, for example remixing Mahler live with the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra or impro-configurations like Deconstructing Drumboys (2 drummers, 2 instrumentalists, 2 electronics and live-drum-remixers) show a globally unique label. Long ago Spezialmaterial has widened its spectrum beyond electronic music to include genre-crossing, acoustic song projects. „Consistently excellent." -  Warp about Spezialmaterial "An ever impressive stable straight out of the electronic hub that is Switzerland, showing that strong composition skills will always outdo technical trickery."  - Absorb.org about Spezialmaterial www.spezialmaterial.ch
