Wenn man seinen Job loswerden möchte, sollte man einfach mal man
selbst sein. Bei den meisten Leuten sollte das reichen… Diese Woche
scheint eine voller guter Ratschläge zu sein. Von allen Seiten
prasselt es auf einen herab wie Natriumglutamat auf ein altes
Schnitzel in einem nicht näher zu benennenden Lokal, wo ich neulich aß
und und halluzinogene Erfahrungen durch altes Fleisch machte. Darauf
einen Aspirinha, ein Getränk, das demnächst einen ähnlich
kometenhaften Aufstieg erleben wird wie dieser Newsletter. Den
Aspirinha gibt es in zwei Versionen ( Schnaps, crushed ice und am
Glasrand zerstampfte Schmerzmittel.
Alternativ: Schnaps, Limone und gekühlte Schmerzmittel) und bald auch
in einer Lokalität in Ihrer Nähe! Bis dahin geh ich jetzt erstmal

It was around the creepy time of 2001's Halloween that four musicians
from the city of Cologne decided to pay tribute to The Misfits and
started a cover band called THE CRIMSON GHOSTS, named after the skull
of the new jersey punk icons.
Today THE CRIMSON GHOSTS are no longer a cover band but already signed
a record deal with FiendForce Records to release their debut album
"Leaving the tomb" the critically acclaimed follow up "Carpe Mortem"
and their latest masterpiece "Dead eyes can see". THE CRIMSON GHOSTS
quickly established themselves as the heaviest band in Horrorpunk
although they are very melodic. Especially strong vocals, diversity,
the ability to create mind-ripping, songs as well as spooky, catchy
ballads and a sound that is absolutely incomparable and self-contained
make THE CRIMSON GHOSTS one of the top bands in Horrorpunk. In 2009
the band signed new record deals with german based CONTRA LIGHT
RECORDS and US monsters DR. CYCLOPS RECORDS who from that time on
cooperate. The first release out of that cooperation was the 7" vinyl
EP called "Sharing Prey" released in march 2009. On July 2nd the
fourth album "Generation Gore" will be released on CONTRA LIGHT
RECORDS.

Kalbata, real name Ariel Tagar, is a bass music pioneer from Tel Aviv.
Regardless of genre, his distinct musical approach comes through in
everything he does – a deep affection for the lowest of frequencies
and a collection of vintage effects and instruments which guarantee
his razor sharp beats will always have a warm analog feel, floating in
a pool of endless ripples and echoes.
Kalbata spent the naughties in east London and was a part of the
city's squat party scene. His first productions fusing tuff Electro
Bass and ravey Techno made their way into Dave Clark and DJ Hell's
sets where he made his first mark. Witnessing first hand the beginning
of Grime and Dubstep, Kalbata was taken by these new sounds,
connecting the dots between his ravey start and his deep involvement
with London's Reggae sound system culture. The inevitable link quickly
found its way to his own productions and soon enough, his studio
skills became in demand with a line of big remixes for artists such as
Roll Deep, Spank Rock, Fat Freddy's Drop, Jacoozi, Sunship and more.
Kalbata is hitting hard in 2010 with his 3rd release on the legendary
label Soul Jazz Records. A unique and true dub excursion recorded live
on tape and voiced in Jamaica by Rub A Dub legends Little John and Jah
Thomas. Support for this special project comes from heavyweights such
as The Bug, Freq Nasty, RSD & Sinden.
This year has also seen the release of Kalbata's 'Wallabee' 12" on
Double Science Records - A dark garage chant featuring a brilliant
remix by Cosmin TRG.
In 2009, Kalbata was the man behind the mysterious "Ninja We Ninja"
white label, championed by the likes of Toddla T, Benga & N-Type (who
included it in his Rinse:09 mix-CD) and was recently featured on the
UK film 'Shank'.
Previous releases include "Shooting Range", featuring the mighty
Warrior Queen, and "Solution", featuring UK dancehall veteran Clapper
Priest, both on Soul Jazz Records.
His musical range, however, isn't limited to the sonic lineage of
Jamaica via the UK. 2008 was a testimony to his musical diversity,
with releases of two of his most intriguing side projects: The
Koliphones, a dusty moog-funk project in collaboration with producers
Mixmonster (of The Apples) and Kutiman (the Thru-You/deep-funk
genius), gaining worldwide acclaim with their magnificent "Voyage into
the Sun" 12″ on Melting Pot Records. Another side project, which
takes
a whole different route, was the deep tech-house collaboration with
techno don Guy Gerber, "Akropolis", released on Sven Vath's titanic
Cocoon label.
Releases for 2010 include an EP on Yellow Machines Records as well as
remixes for Earlyman ft. Killer P & Talen ft. Lady Saw.

WINO (USA) Acoustic Tour 2010 + DARSOMBRA (USA) + CONNY OCHS (GER)
Der Legendenstatus, dessen sich Robert Scott Weinrich, besser bekannt
als WINO erfreut, sowie sein Einfluss auf den Heavy Rock der letzten
zwei Dekaden ist unbestritten: Saint Vitus, The Obsessed, Spirit
Caravan, The Hidden Hand und zuletzt Shrinebuilder - nur einige
Stationen seiner Geschichte. Nun hat sich Wino den Rat vieler Kollegen
zu Herzen genommen, die begeistert aus den Shows herauskamen, die er
im letzten Jahr in den USA mit Clutch gespielt hat. Nach dem
plötzlichen Tod des Bassisten Jon Blank blieb ihm keine andere
Möglichkeit, als die bereits gebuchten Konzerte alleine, nur mit
akustischer Gitarre bewaffnet, zu spielen. Diese Shows offenbarten
eine andere, nicht minder intensive Seite des Workaholics. Stimmen
wurden laut, die ein Album nur mit Akustiknummern forderten. Nun ist
es soweit, diese Platte wird im Herbst erscheinen und ausnahmslos aus
neuen Stücken bestehen - keine Neuarrangements in
Greatest-Hits-Manier. Das wäre dem Mann aus Maryland auch einfach zu
billig. Und natürlich gibt es eine Tour zum Release.
Als Support bringt Wino, neben Conny Ochs, den Multiinstrumentalisten
Brian Daniloski aka Darsombra mit, der mit seinem Bass/Rhythmus
-AmbientPsychedelicFolk in den USA bereits mit Bands wie u.a.
Mastodon, High on Fire, Torche, Don Caballero, Today is the Day und
Kylesa getourt ist. Nur bewaffnet mit einem Bass, diversen Effekten
und seinem tiefen Sinn für Melodien und Stimmungen gehört Darsombra in
Sachen Ambient mit zum besten, was dieser Planet derzeit zu bieten hat.
