Einleitung übergeben bekommen und seitdem weder Kosten noch Mühen
gescheut, den wöchentlichen Text möglichst lange hinauszuzögern. Und
Urlaub hatte ich auch keinen. Aber Wochenenden. Und weil dem mit allen
Begleiterscheinungen so ist, das Intro noch zu kurz wirkt und
überhaupt, hier ein kleiner Bausatz zum eigenverantwortlichem
Selbstausbau bis zum folgenden, völlig aus dem Zusammenhang gerissenen
Thema: Ihr bekommt: 4a, 8e, 3i, 9o, 2u, 23n, 12r, 7t sowie l,p,s,f,k
zur freien Verfügung. Sollte für einige Zeilen reichen. Im sogenannten
Altertum spannten sich griechische Damen angeblich einen Katerhoden
als Verhütungsmittel vor den Bauch. Ich denke, das funktioniert auch
heute noch, zumindest beim betreffenden Kater. Allerdings ist das hier
weder ein Brief aus der Vergangenheit noch die Beratungsstelle für
ökologisch abbaubare Geburtenkontrolle, sondern der Neuigkeitenbrief –
Zeit also, wieder einmal das Thema umzulenken. Zum Beispiel auf die
unglaubliche Dichte an Großartigkeiten, die auch diese Woche in unser
aller Lieblingsladen den Blick auf den Alltag verbaut und das
Wochenende von Montag bis Sonntag dauern läßt.

Nach 15 Jahren, fünf CD-Veröffentlichungen und ungezählten Konzerten
im In- und Ausland sind 2010 für Hessens Ska-Punk-Soul Veteranen FRAU
DOKTOR die "Grenzen der Gemütlichkeit" erreicht. Der harte
Überlebenskampf in der realen Welt mit Jobs für Geld und
Familiengründungen mit allem was dazu gehört, hat dazu geführt, dass
einige Mitglieder sich gezwungen sahen, dieser phantastischen Hohlwelt
in einem mit zehn Freunden vollgestopften Tourbus, auf der Bühne vor
einem super Publikum, im Matratzenlager, im Fünf-Sterne-Hotel, im
kleinsten JUZ, im heißesten Club, den Rücken zu kehren.
Einfach
durchzuwechseln bis das letzte Originalmitglied das Licht aus macht,
kam für die Band nicht in Frage. Dann schon lieber mit einem Knall
abtreten und sich noch mal bei allen bedanken, die FRAU DOKTOR zu dem
gemacht haben, was die Band bis heute war und ist.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA –
Emerging as the new standard from Massachusetts' storied music legacy,
FAR FROM FINISHED have announced July 27th as the official release
date for their highly-anticipated Old Shoe Records' debut, ironically
titled FORGETTABLE. Vocalist Steve Neary explained the title, "…being
cocky just never seemed to fit with this band. Forgettable is just
that. It's an attempt to acknowledge and move on. Its a effort to be
happy." Spending the better part of a full calendar year refining the
details, FAR FROM FINISHED combined everything from a string quartet
to a children's choir to craft their most ambitious collection of
tracks to date. These seasoned songwriters combined unconventional
instrumentation, a general disregard for expectation, and a
well-rounded ear for a timeless tune, to prove once again, FAR FROM
FINISHED is so much more than punk. 

With two studio
releases under
their belt, FFF's ability to harness a real sense of melody, meshed
with an infectious delivery, has established the band as a true to
form diamond in the rough. The band talked about how this go 'round
musically would be received. "I think whenever you release anything
there's gonna be that feeling inside you that maybe rejection's on the
horizon, but honestly you can't think like that. In the past, anything
we've released has been quite different from whatever came before it,
so in a sense we're ready for whatever. Fear's not your friend, so we
could give a fuck if people don't approve of the musical direction we
took with this record," Neary emphasized. 

Going to work
with
legendary producer Jim Siegel (Dropkick Murphys, The Unseen) at the
famed Outpost Studios, FORGETTABLE is slated for a Summer 2010
release. In addition to being the band's most diverse collection of
songs, FORGETTABLE also remains one of the band's most personally
revealing efforts just the same. Guitarist Oscar Capps detailed the
therapy of it all, "Lyrically and musically we tried not to hold
anything back this time around. We've got stories about drugs,
fathers, wives, and mothers…The good, the bad, the ugly. It's not so
much where a song came from, but where it goes and the experience of
sharing it with someone else that might relate. Punk rock shows have
always been a hell of a lot more fun then seeing a
shrink."

FAR FROM
FINISHED will take the stage all summer long during the 2010 Vans
Warped Tour in support of their latest studio release. Bassist and all
around good guy, Pesky, talked about the kind of thinking the band
values during such a critical time, "We just bought a new cargo van
and on the dash in sharpie is written "dream big, worry little". It's
amusing to think of a 45-year old plumber driving around with that
written on his dash." Primed to share what could arguably called the
band's finest hour on record, hesitation is just not an option. FAR
FROM FINISHED is resoundingly just that and FORGETTABLE, well…hardly.

Menace formed in August 1976 when singer, Morgan Webster, met school
friends Noel Martin, Charlie Casey and Steve Tannett at the Hope and
Anchor pub in Islington. Their first gig at the now legendary Roxy was
attended by Miles Copeland from Step Forward and Illegal Records who
signed Menace straight away... The end finally came in late 1979 when
after lack of interest from the record companies (due to their records
being banned) and a lack of interest from the music press (possibly
due to the working class ethics and the working class background of
the boys in the band)... Menace's last single Final Vinyl with the
classic songs Last Years Youth and Carry No Banners, which lift the
reputation of the band up another notch. After the split up the
reputation of Menace continued to grow worldwide.

Actionfilms führt Jonnie Schulz, der Carlo von Tiedemann des Hamburger
Undergrounds - begleitet von DJ Mr.Mandom (Friedrich Paravicini), der

erlesene Mischung aus Soundtrackklassikern und eigenen Kompositionen
auflegen wird.

999 gingen 1976 aus der Pubrock-Band KILBURN & THE HIGH ROADS hervor,
wo Gitarrist und Sänger Nick Cash vorher tätig war, und nach diversen
Namenswechseln stand dann Anfang 1977 mit 999 der neue Name fest, und
im August erschien die erste 7" "I'm Alive/Quite Disappointing", zwei
Monate später dann der Klassiker und Überhit "Nasty nasty". Und es ist
durchaus bemerkenswert, dass 999 heute noch zu Dreivierteln in der
Originalbesetzung von 1977 auftreten, auch wenn Sänger Nick Cash über
die Jahre und wohl eher unfreiwillig zum Skinhead mutierte. Der
einzige "Neue" dabei ist Arturo Bassick von den LURKERS am Bass, aber
das mittlerweile auch schon seit 1991. Doch ihr Publikum altert mit
der Band gemeinsam und genießt die eine Art "Best-Of" darstellenden
Konzerte auch heute noch.

Roche in einer neuen Bühnenfassung und Inszenierung von Peter Dorsch
zum ersten Mal in Hamburg erfolgreich Premiere!
Peter Dorsch begibt sich nicht auf den Pfad einer naturalistischen
Wiedergabe des Textes. Er hat sehr nuanciert den familiären
Hintergrund der Helen Memel herausgearbeitet und zeigt in Brechtscher
Tradition, mit
Slapstick, Comedy, tiefrührenden Momenten und viel Musik, den Weg von
Helen und gleichzeitig den unserer heutigen Facebook-Generation
gekonnt als tragikomische Familiengeschichte auf.
Publikum, Presse ("So funktioniert Theater heute!"), wie Kritik waren
begeistert!
